SO WHAT’S BEEN HAPPENING LATELY?

GORDANA has flown to The Moon!

No seriously, she has.

This artwork is one of the illustrations from my second novel, THE LEGACY OF BEAUREGARDE.

I am but one of many artists, writers, poets and creatives across the globe who have had their pieces reproduced for a time capsule for the Lunar Codex, which was transported by NASA.

Artworks are on a nickel nanofiche which is the size of an American dime, and are each reproduced three times in red, green and blue channels, so they can be decoded to their original colourings.

GORDANA is on the Codex Nova which launched on February 14 aboard the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket, and aboard the Codex Polaris in November.

Bestselling author, physicist, composer and film producer Dr Samuel Peralta founded the Lunar Codex because he always dreamed of going to the moon.

He curated the SHELTER exhibition separately during the 2020 pandemic. The aim was for the exhibition to focus on solace, hope and shelter and “documenting a movement in time”. The exhibition then inspired the Lunar Codex project.

“Rosa Fedele’s piece ‘GORDANA’ – depicting a woman holding a ring of keys – spoke to me as a potent symbol of that hope, that one day the doors would again be opened to our lives,” he said.

This news was picked up by media all across Australia – I must say February was a most exhilarating month! A documentary about the Lunar Codex is currently in production.

BOWRAL LONG LUNCH – JULY 2024

You might remember a couple of years back I painted live at the Bowral Long Lunch … well, it’s happening again! This time I’ll be painting a darling doggo. What type of doggo, you ask? Ah well, you’ll just have to wait and see …

This marvellous event is an initiative of the Bowral District Children’s Foundation, operated by a committed and 100% voluntary committee.

My painting, along with those of other fabulous artists, will be auctioned at the Lunch to raise much needed funds to improve the health and wellbeing of Children and Youth in our local area (the Southern Highlands of NSW). Hope to see you there!
